Submit your website to directories
A directory is a website that lists other websites by category. Some directories will let you submit for free and some will charge you a fee. There are 2 reasons to be listed in a directory. One is from the traffic of that directory. The other is the link value to help you rank better in search engines. Do your own research to find the best general directories to be listed in. Read the rules for those directories so that you can submit the way they want you to so you can boost your chances of being included. You will also need to find directories that are specific to your website. Do some searches that include your general category and the word directory in Google. This will help you find more specific directories or directories that have a specialized category for your market. Some directories will ask you to trade links with them. Only do this with directories that are in the same area or near the same area as your business. Make sure the directory does not use nofollow tags on its links or use some sort of redirect. At the same time you can find services that will submit your site to several hundred directories.
