I thought I would let everybody know I am going to be attending the SES NY conference. I will be there representing www.gadgetspark.com I will arrive on Wednesday and be leaving on Friday. If anybody can get me invites to some of the parties let me know. My contact info is on the about page. I would love to meet any of my readers that might be there.
A friend of mine just told me that Flickr is down. I went to www.flickr.com and sure enough it is down. Funny thing is they have decided to have a contest. If you print the 404 page and color it in you can enter a contest for a free pro account at flickr. If the site is down I have a screen shot.
I am a big Star Wars fan. Somebody put together some audio and video and spliced them together. The scene takes place at the opening of Star Wars but is from Lukes point of view. Over at digg they were saying this was some missing footage that just came out but it looks like this audio and video has been around a while. The audio is from Star Wars radio and the video is from some behind the scenes DVD from a while back. It is the first time I have seen it and it is neat to see.
I am proud to announce that I have released a new tool on my site www.seowebstats.com. This new tool allows you to put text ads on your site that match the different sizes that Google Adsense uses. If you have been banned from Google Adsense or just want to make more money using other affiliate text ads but still like the format of Google Adsense this is your tool. Come try it out it is free.
I know a lot of my readers may already know this but I get asked this question about how to run php with an html extension enough that I thought I would get it down in print so I can just send people to it.
I often get the question “How do I use php without changing my url’s?” or “How do I just make one header and footer file to include in each page so I only have to change them once when a change is needed?”. Read more…
They found a planet and named it OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb.
I read this article on BBC News Online. I was hoping someday they would find the planet I came from.
“Did you know that Google keeps a copy of every piece of data it ever comes across? That includes every web page (without images), search terms, and usage data such as time of day, IP address, etc. Google’s head of engineering told me more than two years ago that all the data gets saved onto onto tapes and is shipped to a storage facility. What will you do with that data I asked? We don’t know was the answer.”
I have seen Googleguy at webmaterworld say many times that they horde data. I don’t know what they could do with this data but it is scary. With all the new google tools like gmail and the toolbar they know who you are and what you are doing.
I was just reading Jeremy Zawodny’s blog and I noticed that he has “Spread the word:” and after that links to technorati.com, del.icio.us, digg and reddit. That is actually a good idea to get your blog more exposure. People don’t have to go to these sites they just have an easy click to go right to them when they may not do it otherwise because they just did not think of it or it was a hassle. He should also put a little link saying what each are for.
Wikipedia has added V7ndotcom Elursrebmem and it is being considered for deletion. There are some that believe that now anybody with a contest can get a entry into wikipedia. I personaly think it should stay. This is a big topic in our wolrd right now. Wikipedia should have it listed it is part of net history. Reguardless of what you think of the guy putting it on.
I just read an article that said www.myspace.com is sending out Cease & Desist To MySpace Domain Sites like myspacecity.com. Seems like everytime a company starts to get big they like to bully the little guys.
