Google one search showing 10 results

When I did a search on google for “houston accounting software”. I saw 10 results compared to the one to three they normally show.

Looks like it might have bugged out. Or maybe it was just a search nerd playing a joke. :)

Hopefully this will not be an issue with the rest of the world. Local results seems a bit easily spammed. Unless Houston has more accounting software than any other region and thi is just what you can expect.

I did notice that is seems to occupy the same amount of space as the usual 3 listings do.

Very interesting, I do not believe it takes up any additional space.

I use google.nl and there are always (at least last year) 10 results!

So what does the result represents? Those company use good keywords, and Houston has lots of accounting companies? I searched with keyword as “Houston accounting software”, it shows 7 results.

I was just showing the new way that google is showing local results in the one box search.

It’s hard to compete organically with the google local search results. Getting a google local listing requires that you verify your business address. I guess that might work out if you offer some type of directory service.

Of course his is a change we’ve seen now all for a large number of keywords. With the implementation of universal search we now even see this in the middle of the results.

Sorry I’m confused, what is strange about that search?
