Google local is confused
March 30th, 2007
I did a search on google today for “houston seo”. What I found was one SEO company and two other people that have the last name seo. Google needs to improve their way of displaying companies. Obviously nobody who types in “houston seo” is looking for people with that as a last name. I think Google is smarter than that. I think they just got lazy on the one box results.

While I would expect there to be more results that you and I expect, I don’t know how you can say “nobody” is looking for that as a last name, when you can see for yourself it is someone’s name? I think it’s Korean.
I discovered the connection when I launched SEOBy.org and did some searches for the name.
I understand it is a last name. My point was who searches for last names like “houston seo” “houston ogletree” “houston smith”.
I think in time the techology will get better and we will see improvements. Google is coming out with these things so fast it is hard to imagine they work so well!
